Contraband

I forgot to mention that I went to see Contraband with David the other day. It's a remake of an Icelandic movie called Reykjavík Rotterdam with the same Icelandic director Baltasar Kormákur and starring Mark Wahlberg and Kate Beckinsale.

I can't tell you how proud I was seeing all the Icelandic names on the big screen over here and to even see an Icelandic actor in a big role with a Scandinavian name! I made David stay while all the credits were rolling haha.

I've seen the Icelandic version and really liked it and usually when you've seen a non-Hollywood version of a movie you don't like the Hollywood one, because well it's too Hollywood. I wasn't worried this time because I've seen Baltasar's work and he just couldn't do this wrong and I have say I loved it! Even more than the Icelandic version I think (although it's very close). I think it might just be that you get more action in the American version. Plus it's not shot in the usual everyone-looks-perfect-all-the-time Hollywood style. I recommend everyone to see it!
